Held in memory of Adam Smiddy, who passed away to an aggressive cancer aged 26, Smiling for Smiddy delivers inspired challenge events which engage individuals & communities to raise funds for cancer research. More than $5 million has been raised since 2006.
The Mater Foundation is the major beneficiary with funds supporting world-class research in areas such as melanoma, prostate, breast and ovarian cancers as well as complementary therapies for cancer patients. Other beneficiaries include Melanoma Patients Australia, Western Australia Institute of Medical Research, Peter MacCallum Research Institute, Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation and Menzies Research Institute.
In 2013 Professional Cleaning Services became a major sponsor for the Smiling for Smiddy foundation, in addition to this Zane and Garath combined cycled in excess of 6,500km to raise much needed funds for cancer research.
